Hello, my name is Richard Kropf, I'm a writer, I drink a lot of coffee, and this is my website.
A long time ago I started out as an actor, then realized that I'd rather write than speak and changed careers. I wrote a few scripts unpaid and single-handedly from page 1-120, realized that it didn't work that way, was then hired for a few series and ended up running the story department of “Anna und die Liebe” with my esteemed colleague Ariane Lange for three years before I became head writer of a Croatian series for a completely insane three months in autumn 2011. In 2012, I then had the pleasure of headwriting the fourth season of the Sat 1 series “Der letzte Bulle”. This was followed by “Koslowski und Haferkamp”, a WDR series that I developed with Hanno Hackfort and Bob Konrad. It only survived one season, but the three of us still remained friends and went on to write the series “You are wanted” (Amazon Prime) and then “4 Blocks” (TNT Series) together. Much has been written and talked about the series, and Ricky Gervais called it “A fucking masterpiece!” on Twitter, which will now of course be engraved on my tombstone. As well as Stephen King's quote on our next show "Kleo" (Netflix): "What a breath of fresh air!" At the moment, I've just counted, there are half a dozen projects in the pipeline. A few of them will be shot this year, some others perhaps never. And probably none of them will ever be ennobled by Ricky Gervais on Twitter again. Well. So let's keep calm and write on. And have some coffee first.
